Are you a sales professional looking for an opportunity to improve the lives of others through your work?  You could potential students evaluate their options in higher education and choose their best path to a rewarding career!  The Institute of Technology (IOT) has been serving the Central California area since 1986 and offers exciting, career-focused programs in allied health, heating ventilation & air conditioning, and culinary arts. We have openings at our Redding, CA campus and will soon be needing reps in the Portland area!

Key Responsibilities

  • Making direct calls to potential IOT students.
  • Delivering persuasive and informational presentations to student leads
  • Conduct face-to-face interviews, telephone interviews and e-mail correspondence to prospective students to determine their educational needs, concerns and interests.
  • Addresses any issues or concerns raised by students or parents of students regarding cost, financing, dress code, curriculum, tutoring, testing procedures, or cancellation policy.
  • Closely assist and mentor students through admissions process.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure enrollment
  • Effectively and accurately communicate school policies, processes, and procedures relating to the various student support services including part-time and graduate employment, financial aid, etc.
  • Verbally communicate approved presentations to promote programs to prospective students.
  • Actively generate personal referrals.
  • Maintains records of calls made, calls received, and issues/concerns addressed.
  • Participate in school retention efforts maintaining productive contact with his/her active students through graduation.
  • Actively participate in special recruiting promotional activities.

Required Skills

  • College degree in marketing, business or related area preferred or a minimum of 3 years direct sales experience in admissions, recruiting or other intangible sales.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with a diverse customer base.
  • Must be a competent administrator and a self-starter and have the ability to work with little supervision.
  • Must also be a team player, willing to share and exchange information and ideas.
  • Must have the ability to make ethical decisions, doing what is always best for the students as well as the Company.
