Employee of the Month - October, Theresa Costa
Theresa Costa is the Director of Financial Aid at the main campus in Clovis. This year, Theresa and her team have put together a string of impressive successes:
1. For every month in 2009, The Clovis FA team has met or exceeded the A/R Critical to Profit goal, consistently beating the average days of aging for accounts receivable. For September, the team was under 13 days, against a goal of 24 days! The team is on pace to exceed this goal again for the month of October.
2. For four months running (June – September), Theresa’s team has packaged 100% of new starts within 30 days of the start date – a remarkable accomplishment against a goal of 80%! As the Director of Financial Aid, Theresa has been responsible for hiring, training, and leading her team to success. With the help of ADFA Laurie Vulich, she has brought together a dedicated team of employees with great people skills that consistently performs beyond expectations. Theresa also has established strong relationships with all other teams on campus, especially admissions.
“Theresa is as committed to our start success as the admissions team is,” says Ron Gardner, the Clovis Director of Admissions, “We are really one unified team.”
Chris Ortega, an IOT graduate who was recently promoted from Financial Aid Clerk to Financial Aid Officer, observed: “Theresa not only helps us succeed, she is fun to work for. She keeps things positive for all of us.”
Says Campus President Joe Haydock: “I’ve never worked with a Financial Aid team this good. Theresa never complains. No matter how big the challenge, she and her team members always step up and get the job done.”
