History

Since its founding, BrightStar Education Group has continued to expand its holdings in the postsecondary education sector. Starting with the acquisition of Institute of Technology, BrightStar plans continued growth through additional curricula and new campuses, the cross-utilization of curricula among separate schools, and the implementation of initiatives to standardize, replicate and leverage successful internal processes. BrightStar is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Haga, who was previously the Group Vice President of Operations of Kaplan Higher Education.

Brightstar's Board members include Robert Christie, former president and chief executive officer of Thomson Learning, the second-largest global education and learning company; the Honorable Tony Coelho, five-time U.S. Congressman and former House Majority Whip; and John Danielson, a Principal of The Dilenschneider Group and former chief of staff to U.S. Department of Education Secretary Rod Paige.
